For those in Portland, the next workshop: Saturday, May 21st, A Fundraiser for Haiti at The Peoples Yoga
Cultivating Loving-Kindness: Healing Ourselves and the World through Conscious Intention A Donation based fundraiser with Caverly Morgan May 21st 3:00-5:30 p.m. In the face of tragedy, personal and/or planetary, it can be easy to become overwhelmed and caught in despair and hopelessness. In this workshop we will focus how to access the alternative - the empowerment of compassionate action from a place of peace and well-being, beginning with ourselves. A specific meditation practice will be shared that opens the heart and through conscious intention we will focus on healing and balance. Tools will be given that will be applicable to your daily life. No prior meditation experience is required. If you have a meditation cushion, please bring it. In April, Caverly facilitated a fundraiser for Japan in Charlottesville, VA. It was a successful workshop that inspired over $3000 in donations. It can be easy to focus our attention and resources on the tragedy that is most present to us, sometimes forgetting about the people and places that have been chronically struggling. This workshop will focus on those effected by the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. We hope you'll join us. Suggested Minimum Donation: $25
