Revelation, Transformation, Creation and Radio Show

Update: The Description of our Upcoming Workshop has Expanded:
Finding the Authority
to Change Your Life

Awareness Practice Workshop with Caverly
June 19th: 1pm - 3:30pm at Asha Yoga: $35

While the calendar year begins in January, the seasonal year begins in spring. The element that best describes the energetic quality brought by the spring of 2010 is FIRE. While on one hand that implies destruction, this year is also a time of revelation, transformation, and creation. It is the perfect time to focus your attention on finding the authority to create your dreams.

We know the right answers. "Don't sweat the small stuff." "Let go." "Be in the moment." But what keeps us from being able to manifest this reality of presence on a moment-by-moment basis? How do we lack the personal authority to keep our attention on the transformation we seek?
In this workshop we will bring consciousness to the conditioned realities we create - where we live instead of the present moment - and will take a close look at how these realities stay maintained. We will explore how the mind plays a role, as well as bring awareness to what happens in the energetic system.

Caverly will guide us through a series of meditations that will help you utilize the revelation, transformation, and creation power of this fire year. You can do these meditations throughout the year, until next spring, and it will help you integrate these powerful qualities of fire into your life. Join us as we bring clarity to what keeps us stuck and find the personal authority to turn away from the conditioned habits that create suffering. Join us as we find the authority to transform. Join us as we align ourselves with the creative powers of this fire year, allowing us to let go of our limitations and embrace our dreams.

This workshop is open to newcomers as well as those who have more experience.

RosesPrior to my meditation practice, I really thought I was conscious about life, but I was actually walking around only partially experiencing life. I rarely was in the present moment. My mind was always on the next task, replaying something from the past, worrying about the future. Anything, but the present moment.

The first thing I started from my meditation practice to notice was how colorful all the plants and flowers around me are. I take regular walks along the greenbelt in my neighborhood. These walks usually consist of me in my head instead of being fully present for the walk. Without even consciously trying, I found myself less in my head and more fully aware of my surroundings. The trees are so green, varying in color and intricate details. Flowers are vibrant, and there are so many more species than I've ever noticed. I'm wondering, "How many times have I walked past this plant and never noticed how beautiful it is?" There are also so many birds everywhere. Is it just because it's spring or have there always been a lot of birds?

On rainy days I'm noticing all the worms. I spend the majority of my walk on these days tiptoeing through them as to not step on one of them. To see a smashed worm or snail bothers me in a way that I never cared before.

I have also noticed on the usual routes I drive things I never noticed before such as signs, plants and flowers that seemed to have grow overnight, and how beautiful the clouds are. Now when I drive I'm so in awe of the clouds that I'm less present on my driving - probably not a good thing. I'll have to work on that.
