| Moving from the Head to the Heart Saturday, May 1st, 1 - 3:30 pm at Asha Yoga Do you spend much of your life listening to the internal voice of judgment and criticism? Does, "I'll never be ..." "Why can't you ..." "If only they ..." "I can't seem to ..." "You always ..." sound familiar? Unconditional acceptance resides in the heart. In this workshop, we will focus on how we get trapped inside conditioned mind - the judging machine - and will learn tools for living from a heart-centered consciousness. When we access unconditional acceptance we can proceed towards change - not from the perspective of self-improvement, but from the process of transformation. Through journaling exercises, guided imagery, and group discussion, we will bring consciousness to what keeps us stuck in the head and what supports us in opening the heart. A specific meditation/chant will be offered that assists in focusing and opening the fourth chakra - the place of possibility. This workshop will be open to those who have practiced with Caverly at One House of Peace and/or Asha Yoga, and will also be suitable for those new to this work. Contactinfo@onehouseofpeace.org for questions about the workshop. Please register through Asha Yoga.www.ashayoga.com. |
![]() We've decided to open up our garden to the community. Our gardener (and treasurer and landlord!) is ready to dig in. The vision is that those who would like to participate will donate time in the garden in exchange for a share of the fresh, organic produce (and flowers) to come. Please letroberta@onehouseofpeace.org know if you would like to join us. Some words from Roberta: "It's almost time to put in our summer garden. It would be awesome to have some of our One House of Peace community join us in this fun and productive endeavor. I will be weeding our garden in the next couple of weeks, then planting seeds and seedlings. Next we'll need to maintain the garden by keeping the weeds out and the pests at bay. The timed water system will go off 3 days a week so watering tasks will be minimal. Lastly, we'll be harvesting the fruits of our labor ... tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, Chinese long beans, string beans and anything else you might like to grow here. Even half-an-hour of work time can make a big difference in the garden. We will provide tools, gloves, fertilizer and keep a list of things that can be done. We can make this a mindful working meditation for everyone! Let's do it!" Save the Dates Next Workshop Opportunities at Asha Yoga: June 19th: 1pm - 3:30pm (Topic TBA) August 7th: 1pm - 3:30pm (Topic TBA) And stay tuned.
