The Joy of Living Outside the Box![]() Saturday, February 6th 1:00 pm until 3:30 pm at One House of Peace Suggested Minimum Donation: $35 We each live our lives according to a personal rule book and yet most of us don't think of it as a 'rule book,' we think of it as 'who I am.' We spend our days consumed with thoughts like, "I am someone who ..." "I don't like it when ..." "If only they would ..." I can't believe that ..." All such thoughts are not random. They define us and make us 'who we are.' Often we don't stop to ask, "who am I really? Who am I when I am not living according to the book of rules that I've assumed to be solid, fixed, and necessary for my survival?" We can't know what life without our rule book would be like until we bring consciousness to what's in the book that we've been dragging around. Through journaling exercises and guided imagery, we will get to know what's in the book and we will learn how to put the book down. A specific meditation will be offered that assists the system in staying open and attuned to the moment, rather than to a book of rules that doesn't serve us. This workshop will also be open to those who have not yet attended at workshop at One House of Peace, though if you are new to the House, please state that when you register. For questions and/or to reserve a space contact registration@onehouseofpeace.org. Limited space left. |
We are also pleased to announce that Capital Athletic Club has invited Caverly to facilitate a workshop in February. Join us for: The Joy of Finding Peace Amidst a Busy World Saturday February 27th 3:30 - 5:30pm $20 for members, $35 for non-members Tired of feeling like "There is never enough time?" Exhausted by the notion that "Whatever I do isn't enough?" We are bombarded with messages about the importance of exercise, healthy eating habits, and the value of success. Often such messages leave us feeling overwhelmed and obsessed with the notion that we need to 'do more.' In this workshop we will reveal how we habitually approach life from a belief that we need to be improved. We don't - if self-improvement as a practice worked, it would have worked by now. Join us as we transcend this assumption and receive tools that assist us in living from a place of consciousness, balance, and compassion. Join us as we learn specific meditation practices that free us to experience the peace that we seek. Join us as we find the joy of acceptance. This workshop will be open to those new to awareness practice, as well as to those who have more experience. It will include journaling exercises, facilitated group discussion, and meditation instruction. Contact DeDe Lockmiller to register.
